More Flyers, more bird news (for some reason)
Ilya Bryzgalov is on vacation with this family. But more importantly, he's back on twitter and being his weird, Russian self. He made a note to follow in Scott Hartnell's footsteps and post pictures of the peacocks living outside of his hotel.
Meanwhile, on the other side of the country, Mike Richards and Jeff Carter are playing in the Stanley Cup Final for the second time in three years. Try to contain your rage.

Out of hibernation to show you Breezy's new mask!
In interviews, we've heard that Bryzgalov was a huge history buff, and it shows on his new cage. Encompassing Ben Franklin, Betsy Ross, the liberty bell, Independence Hall and the Declaration of Independence, the entire thing is a tribute to his new homes history. Check all angles - plus one of a hot chick - after the break. (Via. Ego Studios Facebook page)

Bryz gets paid (WAY too much)
Well we all kinda saw this coming, but definitely not at the expense of the teams high-profile players.
Thanks to Richards & Carter leaving, a shit-ton of cap was opened up and free agent goaltender Ilya Bryzgalov was able to sign an enormous nine-year, $51 million dollar contract. The cap hit ($5,666,667 per) is somewhat reasonable, but once the russian's deal is done, he'll be 40, making him a dinosaur in hockey years. Plus if that weren't enough, what happens to their promising young netminder, Sergei Bobrovsky now? In his rookie season, he was a fantastic surprise to the formerly goalie-lacking team, winning 28 of his 54 starts and posting a 2.59 goals allowed average. With this huge deal, Bob's story in Philadelphia might be over before it starts.
I hope you're happy, Ed Snider. Despite the tumultuous day, you have your goalie. You just better hope this team can still win games.
