Free agency day 1: AND WHAT A DAY IT WAS!

Ho-ly sheeeeeet.... Did anyone think this was the way today would go down?! What started out with a Michal Handzus rumor, ended up turning into Jaromir Jagr (1 year, 3.3 million), Maxime Talbot (5 years, $9 million), Andreas Lilja (1 year, $737.5 k), Jakub Voracek (1 year, $2.25 million) and a possible Braydon Coburn extension. That combined with the Richards & Carter trades, Ilya Bryzgalov signing and the departure of Brian Boucher, Ville Leino, Daniel Carcillo, Sean O'Donnell (free agency) & Kris Versteeg (traded to Florida) makes this a COMPLETELY different team from last year.

As bizarre as this off season has been, I still don't think this team is done. Strong rumors coming out of Philly say a deal with former Flyer/fan favorite Simon Gagne is done, and a trade for the rights to superstar forward Steven Stamkos COULD be on the horizon!

Obviously, nothing is set in stone, but with the direction this team has gone, I wouldn't doubt anything. Would Stamkos and Gags make this team better? Of course. It's just a matter of who would be traded to make room for them.  Either way, this team is gonna be an interesting one to watch come October.
