With the 8th pick the Philadelphia Flyers select... Sean Couturier!

Jettisoning star forward Jeff Carter got the Flyers their first top ten pick since 2007. And with that pick, they took Sean Couturier (center) out of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL). At 6'4", 195 he's nearly a Jeff Carter clone physically, and Pierre McGuire compared him to the likes of Jordan Staal. But Pierre is an idiot, so who knows.

In three years for the Drummondville Voltigeurs, Couturier amassed 86 goals and 137 assists in 184 games... Not too shabby for an 18 year old. But most likely, he'll see a year or two in Adirondack before he makes it to the big leagues. Breakdown video after the jump...
